Re: I like the new Tiger Computer - from what I've seen
Here is an update on the new Tiger Learning Computer ...
Tiger plans to make the computer available via the Nov-Dec JC Penny
electronics catalog, Fingerhut's catalog, and, possibly, one or two
others. Price is expected to be around $180. The TLC will be, pretty much,
a 'closed box'; but, it will have serial and parallel ports. TLC is,
evidently, very IIe-compatible-- a IIe is used to evaluate software
submissions.
There are some indications that Apple, Inc. is excited about the TLC.
This is interesting, since so many users have long assumed that Apple is
unconcerned with its II series.
The arrival of TLC and the Charles Turley's mention of another
II-compatible scheduled for next spring are decidedly Good News items. We
are, in a kind of left-handed fashion, about to add tens of thousands of
new II users!
