I recently suggested to Seven Hills that they consider a feature for 
GraphicWriter III that would make the lack of a good GS word processor 
more livable - the "story editor." The way I pictured it was:

1. click the I-beam cursor in a text region
2. select "story editor" from a menu
3. A full-screen window opens up with the current text ready for editing.
4. Close the window, and you are asked whether you want the changes to be 
saved to the GWIII document.

Since GWIII already has good layout controls and spell checker, a simple 
editing screen may be all we need. Thoughts?
