They weren't computers.  You have to understand that game boxes don't
need fast CPUs as much.  They have dedicated chips for moving graphics
around.  They sold, yes, but the demand wasn't there for faster chips.
Look, the SNES works the same with a 3MHz or 14MHz chip, but the 3MHz
one is cheaper.  Of course Nintendo will buy the cheap one.

Computer speed, on the other hand, depends more on the CPU.
