If you boot the hard disk and it stops loading, saying that GS/OS requires
so and so amount of memory, then the computer and the hard disk are fine.

The culprit is most definitely the RAM card.  When you plug it in, that's
when you see the wierd stripes?

The solution is to get a new RAM card.  Don't fool around with the old
one anymore or you might toast the computer!
