That seems rather odd, it should be able to support up to 8-bit
greyscale. What resolution does this DOS version support, and what
year was it written? It's possible it may auto-detect your video
capabilities too, so if all you have is CGA or EGA, options for
higher resolution and greyscale depth may not be present.
