I tend to use the following terminology myself--
Referring to any Apple ][:  Apple ][
Referring to early ]['s:  Apple ][, Apple ][+
Any E or C:  Apple ][e
Unenhanced E's:  Apple ][e
Enhanced E's:  Apple //e
Apple //c:  Apple //c, Apple //c+
Any 16-bit Apple ][:  Apple IIgs; occasionally Apple ][gs if I slip up.

Just the way I do it.  Personally, I think the "][" is classy on any Apple.
