And I'm fairly sure they couldn't be.  AOL considers their Apple II area a
write off...  they already locked out all of the Apple II users that
didn't have Macs or PeeCees.  They have nothing to lose by making
the files available to the general public.  Genie's Apple II area is still
very much alive, and therefor it would potentially create a loss of income
to make them public.  I hate to say that, since I'm very much in favor of
helping out Apple II users (hey, that's my job - see my sig! :)  but it's
a fact of business.
