Slightly puzzled

Just a quick question...

I have just started reading/scanning csa2, and am puzzled by the amount, and the vitriolity (if that's a 
word), of some of the posts.  Some of the names on here are familiar to me from my years on GEnie, and some 
are not, but what is totally unfamiliar to me is this level of animosity among A2 folks.

I'm sure something, somewhere, started all this. I'm sure that all the participants have strong feelings about 
why they are right and someone else is wrong. But, I started reading this newsgroup in hopes of finding out 
what's happening in the A2 world, especially since I am no longer on GEnie.

Since I've started (about a week ago), over half the posts have been flames. Is this a normal level for this 
group?  And, is this group moderated at all?  If the answers are "yes" and "no" respectively, then I'll 
probably still read, but I'll be sure to get the asbestos suit on first!  :)
