Yes, this level of flaming is normal. Occasionally one of the 4 or 5
flamers will drop out for a week or two and things calm down remarkably,
but they always come back.

I have found that csa2 is not noticeably worse than other newsgroups I have
followed. They all appear to have two to five people who aren't nearly as
interested in the newsgroups subject as they are in calling other people
names.
