slotware by microtek

I recently acquired a IIe. In it was a card labeled Slotware by Microtek.
This was not made by the scanner manufacturer.  The model # on it is
RV611. When I try to activate that slot, nothing happens and the computer
functions normally.  It has a 26-pin male connector on the back, however,
it does not fit thru the slots on the back of the machine.  Is it for some
sort of internal component? Am I missing a ribbon cable? Please help.
