If you go back and re-read the transcript of the Operation Apple Storm
meeting, you'll see that this was the line that was handed to us by
Apple during that meeting, as they attempted to justify to us the reasons
for dropping the IIGS.

The odd or ironic thing about that statement is that Tony Diaz was also at
that meeting, and at the time, Tony was probably selling 7 IIGS and 7 IIe
computers every single hour.

I suppose that if any business stopped advertising a product, stopped
offering promotions, and then lied to owners of that product telling
'em that they'd support them forever...sales would nose-dive. Well,
maybe any product except for pizza, that is.

Apple blamed the state of the Apple II on the marketplace, but they
were the ones who were directly responsible for creating the
marketplace situation where they sold 14 Apple IIs in a month.

In other words...as we used to say back in the 60's...it was a set-up.
