Question:Is the AE 3 1/2 HD drive hardware or software?



    I have this AE 800k drive.  I know AE offered an upgrade for theses
drives so you can using HD disks.  I think you could format them at
1.6meg.  <You can't  use Mac disks though.  You still need Apple's
SuperDrive card for that>.  

   Anyways with AE no longer, was the upgrade software or was it
hardware.  What makes me wonder is because this thing already looks to see
if its a HD disk.  It won't let you format a HD disk at 800k. :/
