That ain't it, you've just encountered some of the embittered Apple II loving
but Apple hating people here. Some of 'em claim that the Apple Computer Inc
making Macs isn't the same Apple they used to know. It's kinda dumb. I on
the other hand am an Apple II (and III and Lisa for that matter) owner as well
as a Mac user and I have a good grasp on the fact that it's the same company, 
but it has gone on to greater things. The reason some are being less than 
helpful is that you're posting Mac questions in the newsgroup for Apple IIs 
instead of a Mac group. People in the Mac groups are bound to be more sympa-
thetic to your problem. If you are a Mac addict like you say, take a little 
time to familiarize yourself with Apple's history and past products. Jump on 
their web site and look at the corporate timeline and some specs for older 
stuff. It's worth your while I think. Good luck with your 5300 troubles too.
