2qwk! 2.03 released!!!
Yes, it's happened...
Now available on Caltech (last seen in /pub/apple2/NEW.FILES) -- 2qwk!
2.03, no longer vaporware! It's everything 2.01 wanted to be but never
quite pulled off. And it is compatable with HP printers and *directly*
with FlameStation XL (see previous post for proof). And it's out.
Richard Sarner should have a copy available on his FTP site soon:

Advances include...
1. Speed improvements
a. Faster disk routines for startup.
b. Optimized multiplication and division code
c. The conference's ndx file is now kept open while the conference
is open.
2. Changed junk
a. The format of the rep.ndx file is now the same as a standard ndx
b. Rewrote the pkstore routine to set the fpos past deleted
messages.
c. Yet another new random number generator (smaller, faster, able to
be pretty darned random without being too bloated).
d. The print driver format is changed slightly and adds the 'printer
finish' command which allows you to define a string that is sent
when the document has been printed, so you can page eject.
3. New features
a. Allows adding "Re:" to replies (prefs:replies).
b. Added 24 hour clock option (cmd-select prefs:hardware:clock).
c. Tabs in messages are now displayed, and the default ruler is more
standard (8 characters between tab stops).
d. Added the minibrowser.
e. Added derep miniprogram to extract replies from the .rep file.
f. Allows printing of viewed files.
4. Fixes
a. The dialog label for a new message no longer says it's a reply.
b. Fixed editor cmd-l file loading (insert mode).
c. Fixed delete (join) behavior.
d. Fixed delete line bug in editor
e. Fixed (swapped) registers (x & y) for mouse routines.
g. Fixed list (launch, picklist & minibrowser) behavior.
h. Fixed bug that messed up the packet info window.
i. Left arrow now skips backwards past a deleted reply.
Support program changes:
Install
a. More detailed display of what's happening.
b. Includes qfix jr. (if prodos hasn't been patched)
- Does 'system' patch.
- Does 'angle' patch (program directory).
c. Saves current configuration (for 2.1).
Qfix
a. Also patches prodos in memory to skip restart.
b. When launched without arguments, multiple patches can be applied.
c. Faster disk operations.
d. Removing the angle patch returns the file size correctly.
e. System files are always patched in their default locations.
f. Indicates disk accesses for i/o fun!
