Nope. Its his motherboard. Or more specifically, a chip on the motherboard.
In all likelihood, the chip that he scraped all that white powder off of.
I've had a lot of experience with chips with white powder on the pins, and
that usually means it is fried.
If Randall wants to get it working again, he should look into the paper
for somebody selling a //e for very cheap (like less than $15 to make it
even close to worth it). Otherwise, just forget about it.
