Imagewriter and ProFile Questions

We recently picked up, dirt-cheap, a ProFile hard drive, an Imagewriter 
II printer, and a Performa 14.4 modem; but we are having trouble getting 
them to work.  The problem with the Profile is just the lack of a cable 
to connect it to the GS.  Anyone have a spare cable that can daisychain 
it to the 5.25" drive, or will I need to get a SCSI card to use it?
The printer, I don't know what the problem is...  When I try to print a 
file, it either prints a few lines of garbage or does nothing at all 
(without freezing up the system).  I noticed that there are two sets of 
DIP switches under the hood.  Anyone know what settings these should be 
at?
And the modem...  It was obviously designed to run on a Mac, plugging 
into the little port on the keyboard.  Can it be used on the GS as well, 
provided I can get a cable long enough to plug it into the modem port, or 
an extension for the cable?
