Lots of icons and random Infinite Icon List

Ok, while I'm in the middle of debugging everything, someone said that
he had a rather large set of icon files (2MB of them, in roughly 12
files) that caused random "Warning: infinite icon list" errors on
starting the Finder sometimes. I'm trying to duplicate that now, but
after pulling all the icon files off archive disks that I had, I've
got roughly 1Mb of them over 100 files. No immediate luck in
duplicating this.

   Anyone ever see this on their machine in a halfway repeatable
state?  I'm not totally sure that all my icon files are valid (a
verifier program is in order, which I hope to do shortly. First a
shell program and then hopefully an App or NDA/S16), but I am getting
some weirdball cases in the Finder Get Info dialogs.
