I expect several folks will tell him about the limits in terms of slots
and
drives, etc., but I see his point.
In particular, why not have a simple utility to enable/disable partitions
so that the number of "active" partitions was kept reasonable, while
the number of "total" partitions was very large. This would lead to an
ironic variation of the "floppy shuffle" in deactivating and activating
partitions, but would still be much better than letting hundreds of
megabytes languish unused. (I'm speaking from the perspective
of a //e-ProDOS 8 user.)
Even if a reboot was required to change the "mounted" partitions,
it would _still_ be useful.
