Re: Double Hi-res
The most popular program I was aware of for accessing double HiRes from BASIC
was Beagle Graphics from Beagle Bros. The utility added several double HiRes
&Commands to BASIC. I thought Quality Computers still carried it, but they
may have run out a long time ago. Another fine package is DoubleTake by John
Townsend. Formerly a commercial package this utility (also a collection of
&Commands and a shape table editor) is available on Genie and may be
elsewhere. For the past several years I've done a LOT of programming with
a dialect of BASIC called ZBasic from Zedcor. ZBasic is a really nice
compiled
BASIC that has a suite of double HiRes commands. Tonight's Sky and Ground
Track
are two examples of programs I've written with ZBasic. I doubt if ZBasic is
still available, but it might be worthwhile pursuing to see if Zedcor would
mind releasing the Apple II version into the public domain.
