Just to nit=pick here, Netscape does not have a built-in Telnet client.
It has a config option to set an app it will run when a telnet request is
made.
I'm confused here, if you are running Netscape why run Lynx?
Just love that text based browser, eh? If graphics bother you you can
turn off graphics autoload.

There is a way to set ProTERM 3.1 to show what you have hilighted. Or, you
can not use that and use hilighting to point out links. Useing the
-show_cursor switch when starting lynx. Make an alias for it so you don't
have to type it everytime. Color you just can't do with the GS in text mode,
sorry. There are other telecom programs that can with graphics. But expect
them to be slower and not as good as ProTERM, IMHO.
A darn shame InTrec has made no moves to improve ProTerm. Chosing rather to
suck up to the Mac. (the PC has a bigger userbase) OOPS! I keep up this
thought I'll start explaining how I think former II users buying Macs is
stupid. I better not, don't need threads like that here.
