Thanks!  I was starting to feel slightly inferior for using AOL on a
Macintosh.  The AOL software IS easy to use, and, since I live far (in
terms of long distance charges) from any other internet service provider,
not as expensive as some of the alternatives.

Numerous friends have tried (and thus far failed) to convince me that a PC
and alternative "online" access would save money.  Most of the service
providers I've spoken with have relatively slow internet access via a BBS
- they generally use some strange variety of software only available for
Windows.  My AOL connection is fairly fast (14.4 Kbaud), cheap (a local
call), and runs on my archaic Macintosh LC.

P.S.  - I'm not exactly "illiterate", my favorite machine is a PDP-11
running RT-11 and Fortran IV.
