ZipGS & Iomega Zip Drive Incompatibility?

Since I'm packing up my 1.08gb hard drive to ship out to Sequential
Systems so they can try to figure out that incompatibility problem with
Quantum Fireball, Empire and the IBM OEM-31080 drives, I'm using my
Iomega Zip drive as my main GS drive. Each time I boot using the Zip
drive my RamFAST card searches the SCSI bus for 45 sec ^then^ boots
GS/OS... every single time. When I used the hard drive (instead of
the zip drive) the only time the SCSI bus was searched was when I added
another SCSI device of changed the SCSI IDs. Could it be the speed
setting of the ZipGS card for slot 7, which the SCSI card is plugged
into? Slot 7 is set to fast by default. I have switched DIP SW-2 switch
7 to both the OFF and ON positions, however the RamFAST card still does
that annoying 45 sec search every time I boot my GS. In addition, when I
shut down from the finder then select restart, the 80-col text screen
appears displaying the Apple IIgs... Rom version 3 message while the
RamFAST is scanning the SCSI bus, instead of the RamFASTs message.
Has anyone else had the happen to them? How do I change the default
speed of the ZipGS for slot 7 (if that is the problem)? Thanks in
advance for any help.
