After getting my HP LaserJet, I found myself more and more using AppleWorks
GS to print out my AppleWorks Classic files. I'll still print some things
directly from AW such as the Shareware Solutions II mailing labels or
drafts of articles. But, with Pointless, I can use TrueType fonts, and I
personally think that the print outs from GS/OS just look a whole lot
better than from ProDOS-8. Try it; you may agree that AWGS works just fine
as a "print engine."

I'm glad you enjoyed my article.

I don't know if my story will be "incorporated in the public's history of
the II series," but most surely, subscribers to Shareware Solutions II now
know all that I know about "The Computer That Could Have Changed The
World."

As far as Apple's "corporate strategy," my perception is that Apple can't
see past the bottom line of the next quarter's results. As I said at this
weekend's Mark Twain demo/presentation, it's hard to imagine any strategy
at all that makes any sense to explain why Apple would simply walk away
from a $1 Billion/year business. Perhaps incompetance is the only
explanation? In any case, those who know the real inside story aren't
talking.
