Okay...figure THIS one out.

Many moons ago, I bought a ROM 03 IIgs (well, not exactly, but for the
purposes...). I recieved only the IIgs and a 3.5 floppy.

Soon after, I found myself a complete IIgs setup in a little shop in
Manhattan. It was a complete dual floppied 1986 starter kit, from the IIgs
Monitor down to the black ring on the mouse. No card had graced its
interior, save for the 256k Apple Memory exp. card. The only problem was
that it wouldn't read anything off of floppies. I bought it anyways, for
a sum total of $30, and happily moved all of its bits to my Rom 03. For a
year the machine languished under my bed.

Just recently I made a deal or a bunch o' Apple II parts, and it included
a UniDisk 3.5. Just for fun, I tried it out on my ROM 03, and was
delighted to be able to mount 3 floppies at the same time. And the I
remembered that ROM 01 under my bed.

Regular Apple 3.5 drives spin forever and kill whatever disk I try to boot
from. Same for 5.25 drives. However, I can boot GSOS from a floppy when
I use the UniDisk. And the disk is still readable when I put it back into
my ROm 03's drives.

I have no problems loading anything from hard disks, or via AppleTalk.

Thoughts/Criticism/Stupidity/Sexual Gratification appreciated.
