Nathan, I have heard of three drives that do not work with the 
RamFAST/SCSI card:

Quantum Fireball 540
Quantum Empire 1080S (1gb SCSI-2)
IBM OEM-31080 (1gb SCSI-2)

I have spoken again today with Sequential Systems regarding this problem.
They are still baffled by the reports, however have not been able to 
confirm this problem themselves.  They apparently have large hard drives 
there that work just fine with the RamFAST.  I am the owner of the IBM 
drive that suffers that same problem and the tech support staff indicated 
they would be quite interested in actually witnessing this problem 
firsthand.  So without charge, they will check out my drive and my Rev D 
card and report back to me.  So I'll shoot it out in the mail ASAP then 
report back here for all our benefit once I get word from SS.  The tech I 
spoke to said they don't read (or have time to read) csa2 and weren't aware
of the existing threads regarding this discussion.
