I tried two different external cases I have.  I took apart my tsunami
case, popped out the 270 Meg LPS and put in the 540 Meg FireBall.  It
was the only drive on the bus.  I tried terminating it internally and
externally.  I tried
various SCSI ID's 0,1,2,4.  The RamFast never saw the drive on the bus.
 
I also tried my old First Class Peripherals Sider, because it has an
extra drive bay.  That is a definite pain because of its supplying the
terminator power.  When I put the 270 LPS in the sider, it saw the
mechanism.  When I put the Fireball 540 in, it only saw the other 60
Meg drive.  
I then went into work to try it in a Mac. The Mac saw it, no problem.
