Along the same lines, MicroSoft's Works/Works translator (which
works with Apple File Exchange, which works with the current Mac O/S, but
has to be pried off of a set of System 7.x diskettes ... ) will do the job
to MicroSoft Works/Macintosh format, which Excel, Word, etc. will THEN
read.
The BIGGEST problem is getting the files over to the Macintosh -
for which, I am indebted to Apple for finally publishing the updates for
the "IIe Emulation Board" on their web site. It includes a ProDOS file
system extender (ala "PC Exchange"), which enables the Mac to read any
ProDOS 3.5" diskette (any 800K or SuperDrive Mac, that is.)
