Try listening to the power supply closely. I'd guess that you can hear it
clicking.  If so, then somewhere in the computer there is a short
circuit.  Try taking all cards out of the slots, and turn it on again.  If
it still clicks, then there is probably something wrong with the
motherboard itself, or perhaps the power supply.  Try looking in the slots
and around the various chips on the mother board.  There might be a small
piece of metal across some leads, or stuck in a slot.  If not, then one of
the cards is probably bad.  Replace each one until you have a short
again.  The last card is probably the trouble.  If you aren't sure what to
look for, and have a 'techy' friend, you might get them to have a look.

Oh, I can't think of an easy way to test the power supply.  Maybe try
unplugging it from the mother board.  I think it needs a certain amount of
load, tho, so this may not help.  Try that techy friend again.
