CV Tech RAM
Quote| I apologize if my last note seemed to imply that. I just RTFM
and
Quote| believed it. Apparently, the D pin is so rarely used (only when
Quote| just Banks1 and 2 have chips in them) that Drew removed those
pins

Quote| empty pocket action (as well as for 1 Mb Apple card, or w/4 Mb in
Quote| the pocket).

Kirk,
Thanks for getting back to me on this. At least we are
communicating now. As for the settings: Yes, I have in fact tried
booting without changing the jumper settings; that's what started this
whole concern.
When I boot AppleWorks 3.O, it pauses for several seconds on
loading, as if it is looking for that fifth meg of RAM. After the long
pause, the program seems to decide that it just isn't there afterall,
accepts the 4-Meg of RAM that IS there, and then seems to run with no
further problems. I'm confident that if I reconfigure, so that
AppleWorks is only looking for 4-Meg of RAM to begin with, that I can
eliminate the long pause on boot up.
Does the manual offer any insight on this?
Thanks,
Steve
