Can a IIGS monitor be used with a Mac?

I have an AppleColor RGB monitor i'd like to connect to a Mac IIsi. Is this
possible? A standard 15pin mac cable does't seem to work. All I get is 
a black screen. The monitor works fine when connected to the IIGS. Do I 
need to build a cable? Any info would be greatly appreciated!
