In addition to what Ian notes (re: IIgs bus and memory speeds) my own real
world testing of various tweaked up accelerators (TWGS and Zip, 12.0 thru
18.0Mhz) leads me to strongly be of the opinion that exceeding 14Mhz is
fairly pointless. (infact while I am a Speed Phreak my own TWGS is at 14Mhz
with no real plans to go faster)
 
The big bottleneck that makes me pick 14Mhz is the video stuff... I can not
perceive any real increase in screen speed between 14.0Mhz and 18.0Mhz.
