I can't help with Spectrum (I'm a Kermit user myself), but I can point out
this is a problem that can be easily fixed on the UNIX end.
If you want your UNIX account to recognize your "raw" DELETE key, type
this:
stty erase ^?
(where "^?" means to press the DELETE key...depending on your shell, you
may need to precede the DELETE key with the control-V key).
You can make this setting permanent by putting the command into your login
script (.login if you use csh or tcsh, .profile if you use a member of the
sh family).
In fact, you can use this method to configure *any* key as your UNIX erase-
the-previous-character key. For obvious reasons, I don't recommend
selecting a printable character...
