I tried with another keyboard, same results.

But now at powering on, I hear a beep, but problems with the internal drive remain. When pressing CONTROL+RESET, there is a serie of beeps thrice or 4 times. The cursor is moving, there is 2 "S" interlaced and a symbol then space.

Does it mean something?

It means your computer is broken! ;-)

Seriously, it sounds like you have a hardware fault that is not necessarily anything to do with your drive. In fact it is most likely nothing to do with your drive.

Did you try and run the self test as suggested above? If you haven't, I suggest you do so, as it may give you a hint as to where the problem lies.

I don't know how many chips on a //c are socketed, but you could also try carefully re-seating each of the socketed chips. Carefully lift them up and then push them back in a couple of times - this can clean the legs of the chips so that they make good contact with the sockets.

If that doesn't work and you have another //c handy, you could swap all of the socketed chips and see if that helps. If it does, you could then go swap them back one by one until it breaks again - then you'll know which chip is the culprit.

Let us know how you get on. Someone more familiar with the //c may have better suggestions.

Cheers,
Mike
