Re: Genie, is it worth it?



Just to warn anyone else ...

Last week I contacted GEnie via feedback to request my account be
changed to the 'Lite' version from the full version.  I basically just
want the EMail and pay by the hour for access.  I only use about 3
hours per month as I must call long distance to get on AND I only
access the Apple 2 areas ... The new pricing structure was costing me
$29.xx per month where the old package cost me $10.xx per month (thats
in Canadian dollars by the way).

I tried to get on today (Sunday) and I got a message saying "You are
trying to access an inactive account, please contact customer
service!"  NOW, customer service only appears to work old time bankers
hours under the new GEnie, the old GEnie always seemed to have someone
available!

Be careful if you decide to change packages ...
