The //e bus timing is a wee bit different from that of a ][+, and this
causes problems with most traditional softcard architectures. Even
Microsoft branded boards are prone to this. The only one that worked
reliably was Applied Engineering's Z80+, as I recall.

Again, AE made a //c add-on that combined auxiliary memory with an
embedded Z80+. They are long gone, but you may be able to unearth one
on the nets, or at a local swap meet.
