What program are you using? A GS/OS program? A program like Proterm
should do very well. Alot of people have problems, like dropping
characters. Mostly this is because of the fact they have no
Transwarp or Zip installed, OR they have no good HH cable! Since I
bought a Proterm cable (directly from Intrec) I finally have a carrier
detection wire connected, but I've never had any problems with dropping
characters with my GS! Often I receive UUE-encoded mail and just 
download it with my GS... Every thing works fine, all the time!
