Not necessarily. It is possible to play Lode Runner GS without a joystick.
Press CTRL-K at the beginning, to switch to keyboard controls. I'm not
exactly sure right now as to what the keys are, as I'm not at my GS at the
moment, but if you have any other questions, e-mail me.
