LA County Outdoor Science School enlightened us with:
:
: AppleTalk software is included with System 6.0.1. With FileSharing
: turned on on the Mac, that means the MAC can share files, not the GS.
: Your GS will not show up on the Mac. You need to use the AppleShare
: control panel (on the GS) to log on to the Mac's HD, which will then show
: up on the GS desktop.

I will soon be moving to an apartment where a Mac can keep my GS
company during the day when the humans are gone. I wanted to help set
up my GS so that it can better talk to the Mac. Seems that AppleTalk
can only be set up on Slot 7. I have
Slot 1 - printer
Slot 2 - modem
Slot 3 - Screen
Slot 4 - Mouse
Slot 5 - 5 1/4 drive
Slot 6 - 3 1/2 drive
Slot 7 - Hard Drive
I would love to set Apple talk to work over Slot 1 (use a networked
printer). I played around for a while - I can move my hard drive to
slot 5 or 6, but then I loose my floppy drives. Am I missing
something? Will my poor GS be unable to get a network connection with
the Mac (unless I give up having floppies).
Please help... my GS wants to be netowrked!
