POWER SUPPLY PLUG for IIe
Readers of this list have read previously that I am gearing up to
produce power supply adaptor cords to run Apple II's from IBM power
supplies.
There will be a pair of versions for the IIe/II+ and a different pair of
versions for the IIgs. Version A will be an adaptor cord that will
connect to power sockets P8 and P9 of the IBM PS; Version B will have
the wires soldered directly to the IBM output wires. (Version B is
recommended if you do not already have an IBM power supply.)
These adapters will be ready in May. Already, I am running my "flagship
IIe" on a 150 watt IBM power supply, with no problems whatsoever. (No
brownouts or freezeups on my prototype).
I have now located and ordered ten of the IIgs power supply Molex-7 plugs.
I _think_ I have found the IIe power supply connector; I write to ask any
"connector experts" to check this catalog description to confirm that
this is the correct IIe power supply connector:
DIGI-KEY CATALOG NO. 962, March-April 96, Page 43:
AMP (MR) MINIATURE RECTANGULAR CONNECTORS, first column, lower half:
Brick red 6-pin polarized positive-lock Matrix housing:
Digi-Key part no. A14113-ND AMP part no. 1-640520-0
The plug I have before me is AMP, but with no part number stated.
IS THIS THE IIE POWER PLUG? Connector experts, please advise! Thanks.
