I have a 20MB SCSI hard drive on my IIe system; all I need to use 
it is ProDOS. I do not know what if any utilities you would need 
to format it for ProDOS; I bought mine already formatted.  There 
is an Apple SCSI Utility disk that might be needed.

Since a IIe doesn't do DMA, pretty much any SCSi card will do.

Any ProDOS program should be able to use a ProDOS-formatted hard 
drive with zero problems. It's ProDOS that does the work.
