What is it with me, responding to an obvious troll by someone who has
nothing better to do than trash my choice of computer?

Let me put it this way:
I own an Apple IIgs and a pair of Apple ][e's.  They can run all the
programs I need to run, they can run the many custom programs I have
written, and my IIgs frequently runs for months without crashing or
otherwise requiring re-boots.  There are lots of computer options out
there, but I have found a system that does what I want, and does it very
well.  In many cases, the programs I use have no equivalents on other
platforms, or have inferior equivalents on other platforms.  Case in point
is the program I am running right now, ANSITerm, which is far nicer than
any communications program I have ever seen for any other computer, with
the possible exception of a genuine VT-100 terminal.

It's not that I am ignorant of other platforms.  As the technician for a
radio station, I am the de-facto network administrator and support
specialist for three Macintoshes, eleven MS-DOS machines, and an 80486
machine running OS/2.  As the television studio manager for Capital
University, I have two Apple IIgs's and an Amiga 3000UX at my immediate
disposal...the Amiga for graphics, the IIgs's for teleprompting and for
studio administration.  And as an employee of Capital, I can run down the
hall and surf the 'Web from a Sun SPARCstation 5, or from a roomfull of
Macintosh Quadras.

But guess what?  Of all those computers I have to deal with, for the
things I do most often, my Apple ]['s are the best tool for the job.
