Is the file huge?  Beyond the memory on the GS?  There is also a possibility
that a text file is not really a text file.  By 'text file', does the mac
software mean a file that is strictly printable ASCII text (limited to 
characters from 'space' to '~' and 'carrage return' and 'tab'.  If any other
control codes are used, their interpretation may be different.

There is another way.  If you output the file as TeachText, you *should* be
able to read it into the Teach editor on the GS, or AppleWorks GS.  
AppleWorks (other than GS) doesn't handle thing such as color selection, 
font selection, etc. which your mac software may be including.

Also, Appleworks // requires that the file have an initial block that 
is not text but special formatting data.  I don't believe that any mac
software can create this block.

Because Teach is included with both mac and GS system software, this is
probably the best format to transfer it in.

Even if the formatting info is lost in conversion to text, is is visable
withing Teach and can then be manually recreated when the text file is
imported to AppleWorks.
