In my never-ending struggle to develop the finest IIgs in New Mexico, I
have just bought a used RAMFAST SCSI card, Rev. B (serial No. 0134).
256K
I have never owned such a fine card. But I have some questions for
RamFast devotees:
1) What's the difference between Rev. B and the newer versions? Will it
be compatible with Zip-GS 7/64?
2) When I install the card, will it leave intact the 7 partitions already
in use on my Quantum 239 meg HD?
3) Where is the company that markets RamFast? The warranty card in the
manual says Miamisburg Ohio, but I think I read once it is somewhere else.
4) If upgrades are available, are they worth the cost to Rev. C or D???
5) Ive made a tentative $10 deal to get a burned out RamFast with its
internal cable for $10. If it is Rev. C or D, can the ROMs just be
swapped to the Rev. B Ramfast that works???? Would such a chip-swap be
risky to the good card's health??? [BTW, the Rev. B card lacks an
internal cable ---- I am buying the burned out RamFast mainly to get the
cable....
