    You can click "About this Apple IIgs" in the Apple Menu. Two good
NDA's that will show available memory and add some useful options are
MemoryBar and MemoryMonitor.

    As you are discovering, for graphics applications, 2.5MB is cutting it
kind of close under System 6.0.1. MemoryBar's mem defragmentation feature
may help.
