Thanks for the offer. The cable is the 'standard SCSI cable' that goes
from the interface card (a RAMFast) to an external CD-ROM drive.
I was wondering whether to go for a store-bought cable or roll my own
using ribbon cable. David Empson posted a pin-out and some other csa2
gurus hashed out the question of using ribbon cable.
The question was thoroughly answered-- Yes, a home-brew SCSI ribbon
cable is doable; but, especially if you follow recommended tech
guidelines, the connections do not just 'fall into place' on the plugs. I
decided to go with a $9.95 cable from AllTech. It works fine.
