What you probably don't realize is that this project is not done one
person but by 7 different Apple II hardware manufactures. Each
designing one part of the project. I, among others, have been working
on this project since Dec. '09 and there are literally thousands of
hours invested.
These parts are literally coming from the four corners of the world.
This is truly a world wide project.
Drew has made a great stereo board for the Laptop Project staying in
strict space requirements. I have designed, and produced, five
separate hardware pieces just for this project and we are just two of
the seven hardware producers.
This is not a project that is going to be slapped into a used pizza
box with duct tape as you suggest.
