I have been using a Magnavox Professional analog RGB monitor with my IIgs
for the past 8 years. It also has the faint black lines between the horizontal
lines. After hooking up a IIgs monitor a few years ago I noticed that the
Magnavox Monitor was much larger! So, I have attributed the black lines to
the fact that the IIgs's 200 horizontal lines are just being 'stretched'
vertically to accomodate the larger screen. BTW, for those reading this
thread that don't have this monitor, you barely notice the black lines --
they are extremely faint.
