And why not stick to only compressed versions?
That will allow you to put a lot more on one CD. I do not know the exact
compression ratio but I suspect you would be able to put about 1GB
uncompressed unto one CD.
And talking for the operating system, having a small quantity of large
files on a volume is easier to manage than a large quantity of small
files.
And besides, if you really want to use a program, you would want to use it
from hard disk not from CD. That is much too slow.
That's how I do it anyway. So for me having the files available to run
directly from the CD is easy but not necessary.
I do have to admit that owning Balloon 2.0 is helping me a lot. Using
GSShrinkit does not allow the same flexibility as Balloon, where you can
unshrinkit an archive (or just the docs) and then immediately work on the
files while Balloon is still active with the opened archive (for possible
further extraction).
Anyway, this is just what I wanted to say.
