Essential compression programs for ][+?
I'm enjoying my emulated ][+ immensely, except for the confusing problems of
uncompressing files. When my family owned a //e, I would just use Shrinkit.
But it's not that easy with a ][+ and the FAQ confuses the issue by assuming
I have a //e. :(
I'd like to put together a disk image with the essential ][+ compression and
decompression programs. (By "essential" I mean that if a program was written
for the ][+, one or more of these utilities will decompress it. I'm ignoring
non-Apple compression formats like .gz and .tar.) This is my tentative list.
Please let me know if I can get a later version of a program, or if I missed
something useful.
ALU (don't know what version -- apparently only on GEnie)
Binary II Up 1.50 and Binary II Down 1.50
BinScii 1.0.3
][+ Shrink 1.3 and ][+ Unshrink 2.0
Squeeze 3.1 and Unsqueeze 2.1 (on GEnie)
Yes, these formats are old, but they haven't died yet! I'm trying to
uncompress a version of MAD Apple FORTH that was compressed using practically
all these formats.
Thanks,
