They are NOT the same thing. Quality sold two different RAM cards.
The original was a "Q-RAM" (or "Q-RAM GS"). It uses SIMMS, and
supports 1, 2 or 4 MB. The later card was called a "Q-RAM GS 2",
and it used a different type of memory chip (the picture I have here
looks like ZIL). My user group's IIgs has one of the former type, and
I think I've seen one of the latter.
The original Q RAM GS was supplied with a four page manual (one sheet
of paper, folded) and a disk containing diagnostic software. I don't
know about the later card.
What sort of memory chips does the card contain?

They are probably used to set the memory size. With the original
Q-RAM GS (SIMM-based), both should be OFF for 1 MB, SW-1 ON and SW-2
OFF for 2 MB, both ON for 4 MB.
I don't know how they should be set for a Q-RAM GS 2.
